We wanted to take the time to say a BIG THANK YOU to all of the members who responded to this, especially the ones who actually took the time to express WHY they liked or did not like a particular song or songs. It is very helpful when constructive criticism is given. Special thank you to all the contestants as well. We can safely say that there is potential talent out there.

WE WILL ADD UP THE POINTS from the KM MEMBERS votes, and then we move it to ROUND 2 when we drop the HMI CELEBRITY JUDGES' scores. The HMI CELEBRITY JUDGES will be revealed as we drop their scorecards along with their comments and picks for the first edition of the NEXT HMI STAR.

I send a very special THANK YOU to all of you who showed by responding that you are "FOR" POSITIVE MOVEMENT in this business, and with this contest, we aim to achieve that goal.

THESE ARE THE LUCKY 36 THAT ARE IN IT TO WIN IT. THEY WANT TO BE YOUR "NEXT HMI STAR"

I must say that we are extremely satisfied with the response for this first edition of the contest, and it will be a pleasure to see how this develops as our KM MEMBERS and HMI ARTISTS/GUESTS PANELISTS choose the best of the best.

We received several songs that we had to turn down because they had been released before...and apparently due to economics, busy studios, or perhaps not being hungry enough, those people did not have the time or did not want to return to a studio to do a new track. Having said that QUITE A FEW ARTISTS/BANDS RESPONDED and now have the chance to be the NEXT HMI STAR for this first edition of the contest. BRAVO.

People...THE UNDERGROUND IS PACKED with several talented artists/bands with lots of talent, and we hope that this contest will help in showcasing these people whether they win or not....THEY MIGHT CATCH THE EYES OF SOME VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE OR BANDS:wink:

But Pat... 10 days to vote? It can very tight, especially in this holiday season. It can be hard to listen and review 35 songs in 10 days. Don't you think?

I missed Danny P's last contest because of lack of time.

Can't you extend the time?

Hey PHIZ....You think 10 DAYS (2 WEEKENDS) is not enough? Would you rather that we extend it until DECEMBER 31ST?

If other members feel/think it is not enough time, we surely would consider it. Let me hear/see if some other members have issues with the 10 days...and/or if they would prefer the extension until December 31st.

Phiz makes a great point, Pat. I must agree. 35 is not "quite a few" LOL. That is quite a LOT! Definitely extend.

PS: KEEP IN MIND that you would NOT have to review all 35 songs UNLESS YOU WANT TO. We were basically going to ask you guys to GIVE YOUR TOP 5 and then add your comments on why! Even though I am sure the artists would prefer that you talk about each of the songs. (LOL)

First, I love the names, they sound marketable and unique.

A 15-20 day deadline to judge would be better; some songs take longer to digest than others. I also believe if all 35 songs are judged by everyone who chooses to participate, it’d create more effective equilibrium.

Pat, how are you going to narrow it down?
