|
|
ZENGLEN has released the LATEST and HOTTEST cds on the market right now. However when it comes to festivals, I know that some members are miffed because they feel that they don't get the respect from the festival organizers because they usually are one of the bands that go on stage first to play, and that usually means LESS OF A CROWD for them to showcase what they got. That's one of the things that led to their beef with Rodney Noel at last year's Haitian Compas Festival.
With them being included in the HIF FESTIVAL in Miami on January 2007, will the same thing happen to them again? First and foremost, they are a LOCAL BAND from MIAMI, and the other heavyweights in the HMI that are part of that festival will have NEW MATERIAL to showcase. MAJORITY OF THE FANS won't like the idea of having bands such as TVICE, CARIMI, DJAKOUT, and NU LOOK (Local Band who is HOT)...going on BEFORE Zenglen. The festival organizers KALIKO...who is also producing KREZI and is associated with them will NO DOUBT try to get KREZI on in PRIMETIME to ensure that they get MAXIMUM EXPOSURE....You can't really blame them for that.
What does that mean for Zenglen again.....YOU GOT IT....NO RESPECT AT MAJOR HAITIAN COMPAS FESTIVALS. They just can't seem to catch a break.

ZEBGLEN has been put out of many festivals...still don't know why they be doing that to a band that is the most productive..Last year in Montreal Fest they played last after Djakout...It was a disaster..Djakout krazé festival la..moune pat sou bo ZENGLEN anko. People started leaving once DJAKOUT finished playing et pourtant Zenglen still had to play..
They really need to work on their animation...People keep saying Richie is best drummer...He might be very skilled, superstamaker etc, Richie plays too soft..His breaks are too simplistic..(side note)
Zenglen can be in the middle of the line up but certainly not at the end..They work too hard to be first group. _________________ Reggie22 aka "Haitian sensation"!! |

I hope they don't put them amongst some of the first bands once again. I agree as far as Zenglen do not really have hottt hotttt songs but the fact is, they play well. Just because the don't have songs like T-vice that requires the crowd to take their shirt off does mean they can not perform at festivals. I like Zenglen and I enjoy them at any occasion. They deserve a great spot at the January festival. _________________

I heard the deal with Zenglen not being on Compas fest in May is because of a bad move Zenglen did way back by taking a date oversees on the same day.
And you guys are right baout the Animation, I remember the last fest Boston had (by Jean Eddy) in 2004. Zeglen wasn't that animated.

In regards to Zenglen and COMPAS FESTIVAL....That's NOT what it is. It's in regards to something that happened at COMPAS FESTIVAL 2005 when THEY WERE THERE....Between ZENGLEN and promoter RODNEY NOEL.
Let's leave it at that.

In a festival that features the DJAKOUTS, NU LOOKS, TVICES, CARIMIS.....Would any of you put ZENGLEN to play AFTER one of the groups mentioned above?
WHy/Why not?
