WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE REASONS THAT PEOPLE CANNOT APPRECIATE, LOVE A BAND LIKE DOLA?
Dola rocks big times!
Dola is one of the best in the HMI?
Why people do not really want to give love, affection to a band like Dola?
Anyway, this is something that continues to puzzle me as I cannot understand it
I attended a Dola-Alan cave last night! That was off the hook
I got there at about 11.30.
Dola was already rocking the place with good kompas
Dola plays an original, natural type of kompas
The band is tight and crispy clean if you ask me
They played "lanbi, their new tune, which I do not remember the name right now
They went on to play “baton,
And they finished with “pou la vi”
Pou la vi, the classic song from NY allstars!
Dola had a classic rendition of that song last night
! My Goodness!
These dola guys can make wonders, man
Armstrong Jeune is one of the best vocalists we have!
Misie chaje avek talan! Bagay red net
Jean Max Valcourt, this guy !
Bon, m pap rele li dwet Celeste non
Dwet misie genle divin li menn.
The guy is from another planet
When the guy is playing, it takes pleasure and contentment to look at him
Jean Richie on the guitar was making wonders
He killed it last night
Dola is dola and will remain dola
This is what I call “a COMPLETE BAND”
Tout neg nan djazz la bon
The public really had fun last night
I am sure by seeing the public's reaction last night; they would not mind buying more "dolas" in the future
Bon, pou ki sa pwomote, moun ki di yo se fanatic konpa refize sipote ou band konsa?
Es ke se jean neg yo jwe ?
Konpa does not have to play one way, I think?
This is an original, natural type of kompas
ou kompas pur dola jwe..
Tout djazz pa sipoze sonen menm jean ?
Sak pase pwomote nou yo?
Moun ki di yo se fanatik kompas yo?
New York fini vre?
Pou gen ou djazz konsa NY et pi yo pa sipote li ?
Mon che, from now on, I am going to have a lot « dola » in my portfolio
A band in the caliber of Dola should have been in every festival in the HMI
Jean Max and Armstrong have too many talents to be treated that way
To ou ta aysien ap apran sak bon!
Si ou kon gou djol ou vre, ou ta sipoze renmen et respekte dola
Moun NY, genle tonbe anba net nan bagay sa
Dola, gwo djazz, bel djazz, djazz original, Naturel and full of talents !
Kudos to Maestro Jean Max and Armstrong Jeune
By the way, Alan cave played last night as well
Guess who accompanied them?
All along, Alan was congratulating the guys for doing such an improvised job without rehearsals
The guys did not even know that they were going to accompany Alan
He just told them when he came on stage
By the way, Alan still has the women in the palms of his hands
Bagay tet chaje net
One thing Dola needs to do is to expose themselves more to the public
Because, there were a few ladies enjoying, loving the band last night
But, they did not know too much about the band
They came for Alan cave, but they fell in love with Dola
Bel fet, bel bagay, anpil Dola avec AC
Dola, I got your back

Celestinos...
Am glad that you had the chance to tcheck out one of the most unique band, and a few of the classiest musicians/artists left in the industry...

These guys don't care what anyone says.. They refuse to play konpa according to son la ri a.. And that's why am a big fan..

They don't sound like other band..

At last night bal.. They encountered a few technical problems that could have made them give up and not go play the bal.. Guess what? Because of the fans.. These guys hopped in their own cars and made the trip to satisfy Boston.. That's customer service..

Anyway.. I'm glad that AC and the fans have finally encounter maybe new York finest in term of jwe konpa..

Thanks for the review on Do-La, Jean Celestin. Glad you had a chance to experience such a talented bunch. Their music rocks and their performances are always a pleasure.

One thing that does not sit too well with me is the title of this thread and some of its content though. Confused Is it a way to get clicks? Stir controversy? I don't know. But since the post is about Do-La, the headline should have included "Do-La." When writing an article, the title/headline is the key thing to strike the match of interest of the reader. It also sets the tone. The tone of this article is one of shame and judging. We are immediately judging potential fans for not hopping on the Do-La boat. Maybe it is not about "refusing to give a chance." It could just be about "lack of information/promotion/marketing." Idea

The fans/public should never be judged; only informed and enticed.

Just my opinion and advice. Idea

Thanks again for sharing your night with us. May Do-La make the best of their Boston appearance and gain a serious momentum. I still have faith in these guys. Wink
