I am 100% in agreement with your view.. You stated is exactly the way I view the CD..... Due yourself a favor, there is a few mafiasco mindset here with a different agenda than just given their opinion.... IGNORE THEM !!!! I chose to ignore them earlier.... It is your opinion and leave it that... You cannot change their view and they cannot change yours...
People who knows and appreciates a good kompa will see the flaw on this Carimi CD.... The two Carimi CD's that I mentioned above are better thans this one...... Again, that is my opinion
Carimi is a band that I enjoy listening to but if I am dissapointed, I am entitled to say so... I haven't missed one of their SOB's gig all year long.... I am a strong supporter.... I was there Friday and I was dissapointed too !!! They killed the night for meat SOB's .... They wasted almost 1 hour on slow music and a stage show !!!! They converted the party into a concert.... a lot of people left in that hour ~~~ Which was a great thing because it was too danm hot inside.... But I felt that they wasted an opportunity to make a stellar splash... The table was set and they blew it ..... The crowd was ready to explode all night long... They finally delivered at the end but a lot of people left and did not get to listen to the album.... They did not play any songs in the album until the end.. That was not clever !!!! _________________ There was never real sovereignty in Haiti - Haiti must gain its sovereignty for good. |

I do not have a favorite yet but this album is a real sign of a band with maturity and that really took the time to understand its "targeted market" and will work wonders for them! |

Thanks for your response, Robie.
In other words, the songs on the album don't resemble each other BUT they are reminiscent of CaRiMi's previous work. Correct me if I am wrong.
If that is the case, then I absolutely agree with you. Songs like "Buzz" and "We The Best" do remind me of past CaRiMi work. This is one reason why I stated that CaRiMi just stayed true to their identity. They have a sound that will automatically grab the ears of their listeners. Albeit "bouyon rechofe" here and there, new ingredients have been added to entice CaRiMians and hopefully attract new listeners. It is what it is.
Now the "rushed" part is where I don't agree with you. You did not clarify that part but we'll just leave it at that.
Sidenote: The BUZZ album really did get a lot of hype from the internet--especially KM. However, when one goes out to the parties, read FaceBook, watch CaRiMi crowd reactions on YouTube, and witness emotions and turnout through photos, there is absolutely no way that one can say that this is all hype. CaRiMian or not, like the album or not, CaRiMi scored big. It is no longer a question of if they scored; the question now is HOW BIG have they scored. |

@DaRealNessa
Now you talking... The way you spin it here is real and I agree... Before, I felt that a lot of people were afraid to stated the fact... Carimi scores big and I was there Friday night at SOB's.. I am afraid that if they do not take this opporunity to different level, it will be a huge and long mountain to climb again... This is their moment and I do not believe for a second... It has anything to do with the CD... The fans were looking for a reason to go behind Carimi... They have been doing an excellent job with the media.... and Yes the CD has new stuff and buillon chaffe.. from that perspective, I can see why some does like the CD.. Pleae bear in mind... Anything that is new, takes time to like.... In due time... the sentiment might be different... _________________ There was never real sovereignty in Haiti - Haiti must gain its sovereignty for good. |
