TI DOZ was NOT working in the popularity department....plus they had a negativity tag that they simply wanted to get rid of....so the POLICARD brothers dumped the name and created FAHRENHEIT. Now they seem to be making much more noise than Ti Doz ever did. GOOD MOVE.
Is it a matter of pride in terms of bands THAT ARE STRUGGLING or NOT POPULAR anymore in order to change their names? Don't they understand that sometimes that just might be the break that you and your bandmates NEED in order to CONNECT with the audience?
Why would some bands rather MESS the legacy of a band/Name THAT USED TO BE SUCCESSFUL by bringing it down to the ground until they lose all or a lot of credibility rather than say, you know what...It's time to come up with a NEW gameplan and change the name...perhaps format of the group?
Would bands like PHANTOMS or perhaps KDANS fall perfectly in that category? It depends on who you talk to. I can tell you that CHANGING THE BAND's name gives the public the feeling that it's something NEW/FRESH, and that brings up thei curiosity factor on a higher level than a band that many people either have sworn off on or just given up on.
Food for thought to some bands that are STRUGGLING FOR AWHILE.
