This was the band's third chance to prove to Montreal that they were worthy of us spending our saturday night dancing on their grooves, and they failed miserably!!
I got there around 12h15am to realize that they were still doing soundcheck. I did see Pipo at the Kreyol la bal the night before, was the whole band in town too? Don't know but probably yes...
The bal finally began around 12h25am with Pipo's only real career hit Ti Rès La, which the played very well. They then continued with Ti Fozi, niely done as well. Pipo then teased the audience with You're the one, but they played Fete. Very well done, Ti Dou was in front doing his thing with Pipo.
As they're playing, the sound still isen't good. You can see Levelt waving his his hand at Rodringue Alcindor (soundman) to help him out... And I never heard Ti Dou'S floor tonmb the whole night. The bs started after Fete. They announced a five minute break after having played 3 songs...! WHAT THE HELL?? BREAK OF KISA??
They then played System'S Ou fè'm rele, very nice interpretation. But then ANOTHER BREAK!!! It is now almost 2am and they have played 4 songs... That's when I had enough and left!
I spoke to my friend who stayed and she told me that it got from worst to worst as the evening went on. They didn't even play You're the one, a song that the audience was really waiting for.
The first time they came, there was a major incident with Zenglen live on stage. They were then a no show in February when thgey were supposed to play with Harmonik. And now they give that kind of performance..Don't get me wrong, the band is good, talented musicians, but si se konsa yap trete piblik, yo pap janm fè moun nan Montreal anko...!!

| Sorry to hear. for a band playing alone they should've served the public with lots of songs. ko'm ou te vin kite maybe they played more. The breaks could have been taken to give the sound engineer time to fix the issues even though it wouldn't have been a good idea. antouka beljazz met granmoun sou ou pou'w ka satisfe publik la. montre moun yo jan djaz la bel tout bon |

What I like about RICKY is that he is hard on his critics but always have encouraging words at the same time...... |

Noupa... You shouldnt blame baldjazz for the sound issues.. Christina se yon place ki toujou gen problem son depi lontan.... Blame pomoter ki fe bal la not getting the right equipment...my computer speakers sound better than those little speakers i saw at the club..

Bal la pat nan Christina a non zanmi, sete nan Caballero li tap fèt.And Kreyol la played nan Christina vendredi and the sound was good... Se pou yo suspann mache nan vil la epi al fè son boneu...!

 pou mwen se promoter a ki koupap...  neg yo ap cheke fanm nan vil la montreal pa manke... I'd do the same... By the way someone told me kreyol la sound wasnt that good either...inside the place you might hear it sound good , but when you listen to the bal after you can hear the difference.
