Here is a letter that we got in our mailbox from a young lady named DANIELLE from ORLANDO, regarding the CARIMI bal that took place over the weekend.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am completely in disbelief with the performance I saw in Orlando w/Carimi. This was my first time seeing an performance by the group as well as my birthday weekend. I drove just to see them perform and I was embarrassed by my Haitian community.

To comment on what one of the users stated on Kompa Magazine, "it was a scene from a movie". The total fight were 3, their were one in the club, and two outside. The one in the club they beat the owner brutally. People reacted as "animals" very unbelievable. I also wrote on Carimi MySpace page to let them know I was highly upset. It seems that the community in Orlando don't know how to treat each other. I was terrified, not only was it my birthday weekend, but my car got hit by another upset Carimi fan.

For my first time seeing a performance it will be my last time. My life is way more important than a group's performance. Honestly, the group would have continued playing had the situation been under control (ie security officer, police). I know Carimi may not care what I have to said since I am only one fan compare to plenty others, but the fans are the ones who make them successful and that situation was unbelievable! I agree with one of the other users because it wasn't only these "thugs" it was also the Haitian community and they should feel ASHAMED of theirselves. Just my thought!

Yanva, I was thinking the same thing as well. She is blaming the people as well as the band, which is unfair for her to think that the band would want that kind of behavior to destroy their show

That what I am saying also, she seems to blame CARIMI as well, and she also failed to mention what the band did that makes her blaming them. Were the band members laughin @ the situation, encouraging the fight or what... sad anyway, but deal with it.

I understand her fustration, because back in the days, the Montreal bal scene wasn't the safest. But like others mentionned, I don't understand why she puts the blame on Carimi also? Where they the ones organizing the party, in charge of security or did they do something to provoke the fights?

It is sad to read these stories because most of the time in those fights, the victims have nothing to do with the REAL reason behind those fights.

To the person who wrote the letter, Happy belated Birthday. I hope this didn't completly ruin your birthday...

Yanvaloo, i get the same vibe from this letter. It looks she's blaming Carimi for the fights.

I can understand that she's upset, but I think she should direct the blame where it belongs. The band had nothing to do with it.

I don't know if you're reading this.

I understand that you're very upset, pissed and felt like your life was in danger. I'm sorry about your terrible experience. I would have reacted the same way.

But to say it was your first and last time, c'mon... Are you serious?

It's like a first-time driver or learner saying "I will never drive again" after having a minor car accident on his first time.

You just have to be more selective and careful the next time about what performance to attend. Think about it.

If you guys read the last paragraph you would see why she blamed carimi for it. She mentioned carimi was still playing while those thugs were fighting and beating the owner of that place. That's why she said so. I agree with her on this one. The band should stop playing no matter of what. Come on carimi, you guys can do better than that.
