If I were o ask you WHICH BANDS IN THE HMI in your opinion NEED HIT SONGS FROM ETABLISHED COMPOSERS "OUTSIDE OF THE BAND", in order to survive or make an IMPACT in the HMI...WHICH BANDS would you put on the list and why.
Are there a couple of bands whom you feel do NOT have HIT COMPOSERS in their groups, which in return puts them at a serious disadvantage to score a hit or hits in the HMI?

HANGOUT is the first band that comes to mind
its obvious that they don't have hit composers in the band
after two album very good album NO HIT
Hangout is a very good band with talented musicians but i think they should get with the program in terms of production and composition of a song
no disrespect but people like T-NES is old school, JUNIOR is doing an ok job but missing that HIT factor in his composition.
i think they should get some of the top producers/composers and make it happen .If they really want the band to survive they should hook up with richie, arly, t-regie or even this guy j-beats |

I will go with my Band Tempo, no disrespect for them so they are very talented musicians but they need someone to make it work

| Mass Kompa despite the popularity of G Delva the band is lacking in the Hit department. |

the others may have a problem with promotion never heard any music by tempo new gabel etc era but hangout definetly as everything exept for a good hit SONG ..( by a big time composer )
i think it might just be what is missing from them ...

i think it might just be what is missing from them ... |
gabel has a problem if they cant travel outside the states- my brother was pissed when i told him that he won-t get to see this band in mtl anytime soon...he was like why they are good ..
i could not answer..

Pat,
I would say all new bands. Not because they can't compse themselves, but by having their craft "touched up' by someone in the know gives them some credibility, which they can build upon. New fans might be more willing to give them a try.

Except for maybe Arly with his three love songs, when was the last time these established song writers and/or composers had a hit? I think these new bands need to learn their craft and stop being copycat bands.
When SM, ZIN, Zenglen, Lakol, CaRiMi and the likes exploded on the scene, they did it with originality and freshness. Remember when we first heard Ou La La, Fem Vole, Ole Ole, Fidel Bang Bang...?

i think u right... paper issues are a big problem for Gabel...
some of the bands have good musics but lack of promotions make the musics go unnoticed...
Mass Konpa needs a hit too... a popular singer alone cannot make u sell cds if the cd has no hit whatsoever...
