Here is an official statement from NOEL/CECIBON about the TVICE NBC gig, as well as SANDERS.

Hello Patrick and all members of KompaMagazine:

It is a rare occasion that I would appear on the board to make any statements but I feel my say is warranted in this circumstance. Each year we work extremely hard to highlight members of the HMI that will be featured at the Haitian Compas Festival on the NBC6 South Florida Today Show. This is year, just as in previous years, I jumped at the opportunity to coordinate the show for our featured artists. This year we included a piece that featured Haitian cuisine as well.

Please note that the ultimate purpose of the interview is to bring awareness of Haitian culture, celebrate the Haitian Flag and highlight the Haitian Compas Festival. Working with both T-Vice and Black Dada this year was a special delight because we presented a show that was diverse in talent with the genre of music presented within one culture.

The communication and coordination for this year’s taping was constant. I will also add that T-Vice and Black Dada collaborated in scheduling rehearsals to adequately showcase their musical talent.

Leaving the interview, I was floored to hear what had transpired within the time we were in the studio. Being there first hand, I know that all of the gentleman prepared themselves from some of the dry runs they did prior to the show. In addition, there were technical difficulties experienced during the dry runs that we were assured were resolved. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Into the performance, there was a short in the circuit that included Black Dada’s mic and Gerald’s bass. Naturally, this would have an effect on a LIVE performance!

I am always, and will continue to be, saddened when we don’t support the thought of being each other’s champions. I am a lover of music, compas music and anyone who stands to advance us on our journey to progress. Sanders shared his thoughts regarding the performance and may have been sincere in his assessment of the show. However, I would caution him to refrain from doing so without first understanding what occurred resulting in such a performance.

Furthermore, it goes without saying that T-Vice has one of the most stellar work ethics in the industry. My hats go off to them because rarely, and again this is from my experience, do I find a band that remains as disciplined and focused about their business just as they did the first day they started. Their heart is in their music and that’s what I saw today in the studios.

Unfortunately, Sanders may find himself on the other side of this conversation sooner than later. This is only because this has been commonplace in the HMI. I would also challenge all the new, existing musicians, upcoming musicians and members of the KM board to change our conversations to highlight the positives, minimize the negatives and offer ourselves to become positive agents of change.

Most Graciously,

Evrose Philias-Noel

The statement I believe is from Rodney Noel's wife, who happens to be the spokesperson for the COMPASFEST I believe.

Hmmm, This statement puts Sanders on the spot here for his actions.

The haters may have bypassed this statement but it is clear to me Sanders fe fot nan yeux boss li yo. Something to reflect on I guess.
