Promoter WES told me that he had to cancel KREYOL LA who were scheduled to replace Djakout this past weekend for 2 gigs, because he could not find return flights to Haiti for the group until much later in the month. He said the expense to keep them in the U.S would have been too much, so he chose not to go with them anymore as replacements for Djakout for BOTH Saturday and Sunday gigs in New York.

Even though he had Phantoms on standby ready to play for him according to the promoter, he thought it was the wisest move to cancel the gigs.

I have 4 questions for Wes:

Since the event did not happen what is the deal you have with the band? Do they return your money with a cancellation fee?

Do you get another date with Amazura?

How do you explain the fiasco to the public. I see you are going through 3rd party. I hate to see money going to waste like that.

How do you see your future in term of credibility.

Great observation Lemomo, These guys must pay better attention to the public. They make those mistakes all the time.

Although the story doesn’t sit well…but if indeed there’s some legitimacy to this ordeal, in regards to Djakout not being able to fulfill their obligations due to visa related issues, hence it would be unreasonable for the “public� to hold the promoter/Wes responsible for the band’s lack of professionalism…

On the other hand...quick and simple arguement…Djakout Mizik is nevertheless one of the top bands in the HMI…they perform mostly abroad...I am assuming that these gigs were booked months prior…so I can’t seem to understand as to how a manager and/or the musician himself wouldn’t make sure that they have their Ts crossed and Is dotted at all times… :roll:
