Many have said it before, but NOW, I AM SAYING IT....NO BAND can touch NU LOOK in the COMPAS DIRECT "LIVE" department. I would say that NU LOOK and ZENGLEN are on the same avenue, but with NU LOOK being HEAVIER due to the style of COMPAS that they play compared to ZENGLEN.

Last night at SOBS, after catching HARMONIK in Queens, I headed down to the city to catch me THE LOOK. When I got there, the place was packed, but I still managed somehow to go through traffic and catch the group a bit closer...and THEY DELIVERED THE GOODS.

The songs that I got the chance to listen to are "ILLUSION", "ABO", "COMPETITION", "IS IT REAL" (The PATCHOUKO KOMPA MAGAZINE REMIX)...Thanks guys...It went straight to the heart.
"LEGACY".

At the Wednesday gig, I was raving about drummer Chachou...ON THIS ONE...THE MAN IN FULL CONTROL WAS bass player NORMAN. NORMAN WAS ON FIRE! He played the bass in a way that would make "POTO MITAN" feel proud that the bass are in good hands in Nu Look.

BAN DEYE A...BAN DEYE A...BAN DEYE A......AWESOME! AWESOME!

NU LOOK had the crowd in the palm of their hands. The two big dogs ARLY/GAZZMAN were in a good mood joking around with the crowd, and they were both on "ON" mode in terms of performance. Gazzman kept cracking jokes all night, including either punching in a phone number on someone else's phone WHILE THE BAND IS PLAYING and giving it to the lucky.....person ARLY during his performance of ILLUSION was really in INTER-ACTIVE MODE as he was having fun with the ladies in the front as well.

"IS IT REAL" (PATCHOUKO KOMPA MAGAZINE REMIX STYLEEE)...I have to say that I did not expect that, and that I am HUMBLE and THANKFUL to the NU LOOK crew who throughout that performance chose to give me "special attention", including adding me somewhere in the chorus of the song. THAT WENT STRAIGHT TO THE HEART GUYS. THANK YOU...THANK YOU..THANK YOU. I appreciate it.

All in all, I got my dose of NU LOOK and was ready for some more when they told the guys that it was time to stop playing to the dismay of many in the crowd.

Arly also gave a speech about NU LOOK winning the 4 Kompa Magazine Awards, showing gratitude to the HMI musicians and media personalities who voted NU LOOK as GROUP of the year, CD of the year, SONG of the year, and Arly as ARTIST of the year. From talking to ARLY, RORO, ALIX NOZILE, CHACHOU....The guys are really proud and happy about those honors.

IT WAS A GREAT EVENING...and I got to see some of my KM Friends such as the brothers CHOUBENZ and RICKY, as well as CITADELLE, BUGZY, BELFAM, DIASPORADYOL, AESHA, and KONPA ROCKERS. It's always good to see you guys.

NU LOOK...THANK YOU for a wonderful evening.

Nulook is THE band right now in the HMI------Look la was on fire last night, the guys joked on stage and played the best kompa I've heard from them in a long time

What a party this was. Even if it did start around 1:30 they made up for it big time when they started. They started off with St.Cecile and they were off the hook.

Outside had a line that was hectic and inside was pack ever since 12:30am. Sob's was the place to be and no where else last night. Nu look is just on another level right now. They have alot of chemistry especially the ban deye where they seem to be having fun all night.

Gazman had too much energy last night and Arly did his thing to make the females go wild. gadon djaz
