Santa, as she prefers to be called, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to Haitian parents. She was raised in both locations, thus becoming a product of two richly influential cultures. The only female in a family consisting of two male siblings, Santa’s brothers contributed to her being a bit of a tomboy in her adolescence. At a young age Santa knew rapping was what she inspired to do. A chance encounter with Slick Rick, at the tender age of 8, sparked the fuel of this fire. Having spent the majority of her formative years in Haiti, Kreyol became her first language. Through Slick Rick’s extraordinary albums, she quickly learned English thus sparking her affinity for making music.
Since Santa has been exposed to all kinds of music, as her influences, she cites Coupe Cloue, Jay-Z, Tupac, Jacques Sauveur Jean, Lauryn Hill and Biggie to name a few. By the time Santa was 12 years old, she had already recorded her first track. Since the age of 13, Santa has had 3 production deals and 2 record deals.

Santa declined many offers, insisting bigger things will come, and continued to take creative control of her music career. Promo-tours were created to circulate “The Preview” in states such as Miami, South Carolina, North Carolina, New York, and Boston.
Following “The Preview”, Santa decided to change things up, showing versatility to broaden her market and fan base. “Je’m Appelle Santa” (My Name is Santa) was created. Santa took popular tracks and rapped over them in French, Kreyol and English, Switching from one language to another, which reflects how most 1st generation Haitian and Africans speak in the U.S. “Je’m Appelle Santa” was an instant hit.
Santa performed alongside some of the biggest acts in the Haitian and French community.
