Well, she’s condescending and that is not sexy in my book. Those cultural low blows towards the Obamas will not work with true independents. At first I thought they were aiming for an alternative to Hillary, I was wrong. They are aiming for an alternative to the Obamas (Do you really want these black folks running our country?). This will mobilize the republican base but I’m not sure it will really resonate with fair minded Americans. The republican tactic is simple: use the POW card when McCain is questioned and use the gender when Sarah Palin is questioned.

I thought her speech was pretty good. She hit on some important points, addressed the critics and did it in a comical way that engaged the public. Remember, this was her first introduction to national politics.

She was in fact condescending. Her reference to "community organizing" or presiding over political affairs in a homogeneous town of 5,000 is QUITE DIFFERENT from successfully community organizing in Chicago's southside which also has POLITICAL MACHINERY that needs to be carefully and tactfully maneuvered. But it was funny!

The only other point I took away from her speech is that she is going to be the ATTACKER in this race NOT McCAIN.

I also think she probably OUTSHINED McCain in terms of speeches. Who wants to hear him speak after that?
