*BIOGRAPHY!

The group 1st Klass has had a triumphant debut with their debut album, the sales of the album are going positively against everyone’s expectations: 5,000 CDs sold after only four months (excluding individual MP3 tracks sold online through ASCAP: cdfreedom, ultimate band list, itunes, groove mobile, groupie tunes, emusic, and real networks)!
1st Klass' music is a reflection of their passion for Konpa music, love for Haiti and life. Blending an array of musical styles, 1st Klass plays a soulful branded blend of Konpa infused with acoustic guitar, funk, and Caribbean rhythms.

"Piwo," 1st Klass' debut album, features nine new songs that are the triumphant result of an intergalactic cross-pollination of Konpa Direk, R&B, a little bit of Zouk, and of course, some advanced aesthetic Konpa love.

From November to March 2008 the band played at several venues throughout New York. They also shared the stage with several Konpa’s headliners at the 2007 Musique En Folie (Haiti’s biggest music showcase for young and established artists), performing in front of 10,000 music lovers. Most recently, 1st Klass performed at Quisqueya El Hudson Music Festival held in Spanish Harlem on Sunday June 22. 1st Klass dazzled the mostly foreign audience with the hot sound of Konpa Music. Quisqueya Music Festival aims to foster Unity among Haitians and Dominicans.

"I cannot believe that it's all happening so fast," said lead singer Frantzy Merizier. ".. We just released our 1st album not too long ago, and we are already making big moves New York and Haiti. The band received positive feedback from the fans and the media, which include Haiti's preeminent entertainment magazine, Ticket Magazine, THN, Tele Eclaire, Visa Fm, Magic FM, and all the major radio stations playing 1st Klass' musique on the airwaves.

With a multi-faceted debut album, 1st Klass show promises great promises since their breakthrough in New York, and the group hope to embark on many directions to go for its next endeavor.

“ We will keep touring and promoting the album in the upcoming months. We’ve been receiving live requests for Haiti, Dominican Republic, France, and Martinique. We hope to bring 1st Klass' music to the Diaspora, igniting new venues with our talent, maybe catching the attention of the World of music with our sound”, said maestro James Lobertho.

Founded in 2006, 1st Klass has emerged as one of the most promising Konpa (the most popular form of Haitian music) musicians groups that listeners will hear this year.

1st Klass is composed of five experience talented musicians, including drummer, Leonel Anantua (former member of Ethnic and New York All Stars), bassist Romual Joseph who made his debut with the group, Dega, and guitarist, Gerald "Junior" Leon, whose is a veteran in the Haitian music scene.

Loberto, a former prodigy of Septentrional, which is one of Haiti's greatest Konpa band, is the bandleader and keyboard. Lobertho is a very talented musician; he produces, composes, arranges, and sequences nearly all of the songs on this album. He has landed his musical talent to top Haitian artists, including Tantan Lakol (on tour and albums), Alan Cave, Phantoms, Zenglen, among others.

Newcomer Frantzy Merizier A.K.A. Poochy X sensual and distinctive vocal style is sure to keep konpa's audience smiling, and singing along 1st Klass infectious konpa beats (listen to his commanding performance of Jalou).

1st Klass debut album is now available in stores
