I remember when I first heard T-Pain's "Im Sprung".

I said wow this is different and I knew in the pit of my stomach this was gonna catch-on.

Well years later, it is an easy formula to have T-Pain in your song so it can be successful.

Around that time when T-Pain first came out. I was on the phone with Papillon talking about the business and artistic development.

I told him about T-Pain.

And I said to him "....you have to do that. You have to bring something DIFFERENT to konpa!"

Well obviously he didn't listen. It was too bad because I think a person like him couldve really made that work.

Anyway, am I alone in this?

Do you think the VOICE-BOX could work in KONPA.

Speaking specifically from a RECORDING angle. Not LIVE PERFORMANCE.

I am aware of all those examples...

For example most of the artists use the technology to provide some accent in some parts of the song.

And Nicky uses it some parts as well.

What I am talking about is how T-Pain uses...he uses THROUGHOUT the entire song.

Dj Kreyol, i see young upcoming artist using it in one entire song and maybe have two songs and that's it. It will be successful if the song is nice. But it don't see it becoming a trend. We like our artist all natural. The voice we hear on the record has to be very close to what we hear live. Take Daan Junior for example, great voice on record but mediocre live. So these effects won't seat to well with the crowd if they can't imitate it live

KREYOL

If the voicebox is the VOCODER or similar to it....I don't see why not. THE LEGEND ROBERT MARTINO used something similar or close to it during his SCORPIO days. PETER FRAMPTON inspired him to do that of course.

its would be a cool idea if someone can pull it off in kompa but the general live public might take time 2 consume it Because there always expecting vocals and be groove but at this day and age anything is possible so it should be brung upon as a challenge 2 any willing artist that can make a hit with the voicebox
