 |
|
Lately bal attendance in South Florida has been FLOPPED. All the major bands touring the SUNSHINE STATE failed to bring a decent crowd inside the clubs. The local bands have not made the grade also.
Promoters are losing money left and right.
Folks are wondering what is really going on?
Most people that I talk to BLAME it on the PRICE OF GAS which the U.S version of the KLOROX.
When we think about other factors that can cause this degeneration of bal attendance in Miami, can we blame the price of GAS ONLY?

Gen lot facteur...
Si djazz yo pa gen anyen nouvo yo ap ofri, bagay yo deja rèd nan poch moun yo, lap dificil pou yo fè sakrifis pou yo depansé nan situation sa yo. Se vré gen "tizè program" kap toujou fè yon fason pou yo reponn prezan, men si plus bagay yo ap pi rèd epi se toujou menm "play-list" yo, djaz yo ap frapé nan event yo...
Pap gen trop garanti pou promoter yo!

Red La,
with gas being around $4.10 and the rise in food prices, consumers (fans) are really selective when it comes to the parties they choose to attend. Another factor contributing to the downward attendance trend is the pairing of certain bands; se pa tout jaz pou mete ansan'm pansan ke wap rantre 2goudin. _________________ Bat Chyen An Tan'n Met Li

I have been saying that for the longest here. Some people think it's certain bands that cannot pull people out, I disagree. Parties in the HMI are not the same as it used to be. I for one do not go out that often anymore, $30 is too expensive for the kind of service/show we get in the HMI. Until they do something about it, it will only get worst. _________________ _______________________________________

IT’S NOT THE PRICE OF GAS ONLY; THE PRICE OF THE BAL IS TOO HIGH ALSO SPECIALLY A LOCAL BAND. THAT'S THE REASON WHY WE HAVE 60 PEOPLES IN THE BAL LATELY ON SATURDAY NIGHT. |

Red La bagay sa la lontan fre-m in the last two years its been really hard for promoter to even break even, tout jazz ap mande gro corb epi the consumer are crying over prices. honestly if it was not for all the new albums that came out last year the hmi wouldn't even survive this year. Gas price is just part of the situation i've been saying that for the last year Immigration is the hmi number one enemy. |

Gro, you made a valid point. They tend to be more selective now.
Furthermore they have so many other choices outside the bands party scene for entertainment purposes. On Thursday, there is "POETRY NIGHT"(free of charge) where different artist from different fields of the entertainment spectrum provide fun to the Miamians. On Fridays, you have "DETENTE CULTURELLE" which becomes very popular among conservative folks in South Florida. There also more than 10 Zouk nights between Friday and Sunday. Therefore they become more selective as Gro put it. They do not have to burn their GAS if the party is not in their liking.
Mwen pa konin koman bagay yo ye nan zone kankou TAMPA, ORLANDO, NEPOSE,PORT ST LUCIE, min nan Miami KLOROX la red pou djazz yo ak promoters yo. _________________ Kite'l mache

I was just talking to a promoter friend the other day, he told me the same thing. He said even the so called bands that usually bring the people all time can only manage to bring in 200-300 people now. I think the current state of the economy has a lot to do with that. Usually when things are though, people will most often spend less money on luxury items. The high price for bal tickets is also another reason. It cost almost $100 to attend any Haitian even today if you everything. I love going to bal but I m at point where I really get very selective on which ones I attend. _________________ THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN OPINION AND FACTS. |

Red la..... se Fl selman non... se tout kote......
the way this Economi going right now..many people just limited themself from spending lots of money...Gas cost over $4.00...... Food went up because of Gas prices..
people loosing houses because they can't pay it...not only that even if the house is paid for... people still end up loosing their home because taxes became a mortgage now.....its a world wide crises......life getting harder everyday....
now you don't really see the same faces anymore when you go to the Club......unless they getting in free..
when a bal already Cost $30.00 and at the door they jacked up the price $50.00 that turn people off...they won't buy Drinks....if the party is far away..at least you have to put $30.00 gas..m...
see how much money you'll spend just one night.... _________________ djakout renouvle pouvwa'l... djakout renouvle pouvwa'l........... gade amba'm wa we.. men kompa |
