I AM JUST ASKING A QUESTION based on the comments by a couple of our members here. Read the 2 comments from "LAKAY" and "FUNKY" below.

*LAKAY: "Se Tvice ak kreyol la / kompa kreyol kite konn jwer nan tout graduation konnia la Carimi pase li ba yo yon pakala."

*FUNKY: "Pat zenglen ak nu look pa janm jwe graduation."

Based on these comments, are we to assume that only "certain bands" are chosen by schools in Haiti for graduation parties?

Are bands like Djakout, Nu Look, Zenglen, Mass Compas out of the question when it comes to graduation parties in Haiti, compared to bands such as Carimi, T-Vice, Kreyol La, Krezi? KDANS also was a favorite of graduation parties back in the days.

What do you guys think?

KM!

Pat,
A very Good and Touchy subject. The examples you quoted from the members illustrate the so ever dominant factor in Haitian Society.
I'll wait for the others before I can elaborate any further, Good Post as always
Peace

this one is kind of simple and understanding...

why ? the kids get to pic.and more then likely will go with the group that's appealing the the youth movement and those band you Mention are it..
Same as when there is old organization parties those Granmou'n pick those older Band.

Se sa ti mou'n yo vle se yo ki jwe' ...

Discrimination i don't think so ...but djazz the kids are feeling lately is it.

Man ...just got back too ..and i wanted to answer on the original post .

Krezi , Carimi, kreyol la, T-vice is the band appealing to the kids in Haiti so that's what it is ..anyway my oppinion wi...

As always, I respect your attempt at trying to downplay the subject matter. I'm not sure about the "toute la jeunesse trouve NU LOOK , DJAKOUT ak ZENGLEN trop Granmoun pou yo, I don't buy it.
Mwen pran sant yon ti bagay kwochi lan sa Pat ap pale a wi.....
Graduation can be a very Lucrative Franchise, Just my opinion

1 lov lè on timoun nan filo se de 17 a 19 an maksimòm li genyen Wink
Sa'k pi rèd la gen on kip ti djaz jèn (efemè) ki osi bz ke gwo djaz nan epòk graduasyon just paske nèg yo fè non yo nan crowd diferan pwomosyon swa paske yo te jwe nan 2 3 joune rekreativ kote jèn yo te satisfè e yo te gen moun dèyè yo... M'pa konnen si'w te konn realite GRADUASYON ayiti an ou ankò si'w te gradue an Ayiti men ou wè sa yo rele PAF la se AYITI'm fè'l... M'pot ko retounen nan peyi blan an so ti diskusyon sa yo m'ka ba ou yo sou 2 chèz... N-e-ways m'pa gen pouvwa sou pèsepsyon'w Wink

Mwen gen 2 rezon.

1) T-vice, Krezi,Carimi,Kreyol-la,K-dans pa jwe lou menm jan ak Mass compa, Zenglen, Nu-look, Djakout.

2) Djaz sa yo gen plis jenn gason ki attirant.

Pou mwen ajoute a sa DON GABANNA sot di an...

Anpil lekol ap chwazi groups like ROCKFAM and BARIKAD CREW... Epok KING POSSE yo te tres populaire tou. Menm si mwen pat fè PHILO AYITI men preske chak ané m'gen yon ti fanmi ki FINI ayiti.

Pa gen anyen de DISCRIMINATION Ladan'l se yon kestyon DE JAZZ LA JEUNESSE kap palé.

Don,
Thanks for the elaboration. I really appreciate it, I was not fortunate enough to finish School in Haiti. I see your point very Clearly now. I was looking at the possible discriminatory side of the topic. After your explanation, I don't need to look into it anymore. Well done Bro. One of the things I enjoy on KM most of the times is the open and respectful dialogues.
Thanks again epi an kite'l mache.
Peace
