If you've been living under a rock or not a fan of Al Pacino, then you wouldn't know the origin of my name... Any how, Benny Blanco was a character in one of my favorite movies, Carlito's Way... The character Benny Blanco from the Bronx, was played by John Leguizamo. He was a up and coming drug dealer in the Bronx, who ultimately killed Carlito Brigante for disrespecting him earlier in the movie...

I chose this screen name, because Benny is moi... I don't let anything slide... Payback is sure with me... Laughing Arrow

KonpaConvert is kinda self explanitory...

Born and raised in teh U.S. I really had no ties to Haiti and my parents never exposed us to the culture oter than food and language at the house.

Konpa was not my "cup of tea" first b/c of the language barrier (my creole was and sometimes still is terrible) and 2nd I was only exposed to the little music from eith Radio Kamokin (my dad listened to that program danm near everyday) and/or at birthday/graduation parties.

It wasn't until my freshman year of college I went to a party and they were playing T-Vice and I saw people plogueing (i told u my creole sucks) and i became intrigued.

Every sense then i have converted to konpa and have a greater appreciation for the music and my culture.

LouisJeanBeauge,

Nèg ki pa manje anyen frèt. Vagabon grenn 5. Pa pè chay. The name only reflect a certain aspect of my character, probably the pa pè chay part. I am very respectful guy and easy to get along with. But I will not mince my words when you step on my toes. People who are closed to me have told me that I can be a real prick. I don't know about that. But once I know I'm right about something, I won't give up/in. I guess that's what they call being a prick.

i'm a little confused is 'LouisJeanBeauge' a real person, a character or just a figment of your imagination

@KC - off topic just a bit... My father listened to that 24hr a day foking radio station as well... That radio would never turn off... We would hide it, break it once or twice (sorry dad) and he'll either replace it or fix it... That sh8t really used to drive me crazy...

jeanVALjean...The first time I saw that name, I said that sounds like a Haitian! Laughing

I had just finished reading Les Miserables and that was the name of the protagonist...when Pat FINALLY approved my membership, I was like oh crap, I don't have a screenname! Since I liked that character from the book, I chose the name...

BTW KC, a "louisjeanbeauge" or "lwijanboje" is a perjorative Haitian term used to describe a person of shady/unscrupulous character...which incidently fits my buddy LJB just fine, especially after I finish kicking his a$$ in pool for the umpteenth time Laughing
