Does anyone feel that we are enslaved by HMI & Promoters/Producers?
For many years the haitian community has supported the HMI despite their disrespect toward the community as a whole. Is it us that encourage it to happen or do we have no other choice but to comply?
How many times have we gone to the so called "Bal de l'annee" just to waiste our time and money? either the party is stopped by the police because of an over crowd issue, a fight or complete sabotage by a rival. Yet the majority of us accept to be subjected to the next catch the following year.
Last night after the Haitian Kompa Festival, I attended a "all white party" with NU LOOK promoted by an out of state group.NU LOOK, as expected, started playing at 2:30AM. One hour later, with only 2 songs performed, Broward Sheriff intervened and stop the party. Rumors has it that BSO was called by promoters of an other party, held the same night "all black party" with Zenglen, either in retaliation or simply polemic due to the fact that the "all black party" was also cancelled prematurely.
When one imagines how much money haitians from all over have spent every year for the "FLAG DAY WEEKEND" in Florida thru travelling, hotels, car rentals, gas, foods, pre & post festivals parties just to name a few; I believe that it is dispeakable and mind boggling for them to be treated with such disrespect.... BUT AGAIN, THESE SAME VICTIMS WILL COME NEXT YEAR FOR SOME MORE TREATS FROM THEIR MASTERS.
