We asked DJAKOUT groovemaster TI REGI, the same question that we asked TVICE manager Jessie Al-Khal earlier, which was if he thinks that the carnavals by BOTH GROUPS DJAKOUT and TVICE went too far this year in terms of personal attacks. This is what he told me.

TI REGI: "Well, in regards to DJAKOUT, I disagree with the critics. I think this is the second consecutive year that we chose to go a different route with our carnaval in terms of personal attacks. We did not go too far into things, if anything, we kept it comical and that's that."

TI REGI continues "T-VICE ap devire bagay yo. TVice have chosen to go that route. That's actually what Djakout used to do in previous years Before the last 2 years, and we saw that it did NOTHING FOR US, so we decided that personal attacks was not the way to go. We had so much material that we could have used...Nou gin de seri de dossier ki te tombe nan min nou ke nou te ka utilize pou met chaleur, but we held them back. Nou kimbe yo. And to tell you the truth, I DON'T REGRET keeping them out of the carnval even after hearing TVice's meringue. Mwen pa regret ke nou pa mete bagay sa yo nan kanaval nou an."

TI REGI: "We saw that the fans were talking that they did not want things to go too far this year, so we listened to them. We have respect for all of our fans in terms of the advice that they give us whether it be on the internet or on the streets. They might not be right all the time, but most of the time, the things that they say have a lot of truth in them. That is exactly why our carnaval ap bat pa voisin an all over Haiti."
