Quick question for you all. Would you ever consider having sex with a "significant other" who had genital herpes  Knowing that piece of information, would you still go for it?

It all depends evie.
If the person is honest about it...he contracted it before we were together...and was faithfully taking their medication...than sure...why not.
people with HIV can be in meaningful relationships why not people with herpes? |

evie...that's not something you forget to do. I mean, that's like forgetting to take your birth control pill.
I mean it could happen but it's unlikely if the person cares about your wellbeing.
I'm just saying that plenty of people with genital herpes arein meaningful relationships.
I don't think that's a huge obstacle to them. |

I see where you and Kafou are coming from. There is something very important you need to know though......you may say that you will not have sex with that individual, and that is fine to state.
BUT, you need to understand that gin moun deyo a ki gin ke du. If they have a sickness, they will be more than happy to spread it on. Therefore meaning that in this case with genital herpes, moun la ka fe espre, li soti nan treatment/medication li yo, li pa dit moun lit malad.....EPI LAP SPREAD AFE'L(nan kouche ak lot moun).. Ou mem kom innocent, ou pense ou pa gin anyin and then bamb.....OU PRAN!! Something to think about  |

Well, knowing someone has genital herpes I have to say that It really depends on how much in love I am and how he was affected.
While taking antiviral medications herpes can still be spread and even if the person does not have any symptoms he or she can still infect the other person, using condoms might reduce the risk which still doesn't mean it is safe cuz condoms may not cover all infected areas and some sores are not even visible. See it a hassle, been safe is not 100% guaranteed so, that's when love kick in the subject cuz ppl wouldn't put their life at such risk just for anyone....

I don't know. I think with me, it would be a big no no. I think that anyone who really loved me would tell me he has genital herpes right in the beginning of the relationship. Even with that, I would not take that risk of having relations with him. As Madan Mika mentioned, even with treatment it could be risky having sex with this individual.
This disease I do not think will kill a person, but who would want to have this sickenss for life? I believe it is contgagious as well. If on stopped taking his/her medication and sits someplace, anyone who goes and sits on the same seat as that individual afterwards will catch that disease!!! BIG RISK!!!!
That's a NO for me. |
