Pat summed up the night pretty well. I had a BLAST last night and my band did not DISAPPOINT. They played all of my favorites “Mal" (@JayBK - mwen konnen, the real SONG OF THE YEAR) to “Ler Nap fe Lamou”and “Webe” which was a treat. Manno Obas killed it and the camaraderie he has with his old band mates is still there and he looked like he really ENJOYED jamming with the fellows. It was nice to see how many HMI personalities was there to support my band. I believe the WHOLE CaRiMi crew was there including Steve Desrosier but I could be wrong. The overall sentiment from fans and musicians alike was that Mizik Mizik may not be the most active band but when you see them live you realize what is all the HYPE about. Djazz mwen bon tonerrrrrrrrrrrrrr and I was willing to shout it off the SOBs rooftop if they let me.
I tried to keep my composure throughout the night but sometimes I just let my inhibitions go and I just danced my LadyK heart away. It was sooooooo nice to finally meet the man KMPat, who I regret I didn’t try to dance with but it will be one of my new year’s resolutions, (don’t worry Pat, I don’t bite, well at least not hard ). As always it was a pleasure hanging out with my KM/epav buddies you know who you are.
@Mizik Mizik - loves you, please come back again.
@Aesha - I temporarily borrowed your Dancing Disco Queen crown for the night, I hope you don’t mind.
@Konparockers - Apa'w sezi
Great pics Pat and thanks for sharing. |

It's always good to see M. Obas w/ MIZIK MIZIK. I am still wishing for a 1993 MIZIK MIZIK back together one day.
ALL the members:
Choupit, Yvon Jerome, Arius joseph, Angero, Fabrice, KeKe, Frantz Emile, Emmanuel Obas, Vardy Farrel
As a child I use to play drum at church. In 1993 my older cousin took me to a "journee recreative " at Saint Louis where MIZIK MIZIK was playing, after I saw Yvon Jerome that day I started taking my drum serious. In 1997 I saw them playing again at lycee Firmin, That time I was watcing the bass player( Frantz Emile), I decided to start learning the bass. So many young misicians from that time were inspired by this group, and this is why I am happy for them being known as the greatest. Hopefully, they will be in Florida soon. |

I haven't heard something this good in a while in the kompa scene ! Mizikmizik delivers yet again,my definition of that deep kompa ish .Thanx to Mizikmizik i'm now banging the sh8t out of this track ''MAL''...I need the vocal from that track ,''FUNK,PHAT,SOUL,DEEP'' the views and opinions expressed are solely those of DJenius .So you know it's good LOL. Brought that song ''DAVID ''80's throwback in the sets...my GOODNESS , my sisters would have been so happy to hear that one.
That song ''MAL'' i dunno, should be song of the year in the kompa scene, man ...the bassline ,keys ,lyrics ,vocal just do it for me"""WHEW""....Props and Respect. _________________ You may be black, you may be white, you may be Jew, or Gentile. It don't make a difference in our house.

All I can say is WOW... I have to say that Mizik Mizik has been the best musical performance I've attended this year. My spirits were high frm beginning to end. Damn..what a show! I wish I can go back in time and replay that night. I have absolutely no complaints.. it wasn't over crowded at all. Plenty of room to walk around... breathe.. and dance in peace. I came early and enjoyed a tasteful dinner and some spanish tunes..
Everything was just live...
Performance was off the hook!.. I'm sooo glad I finally got to witness this band live.. now I see what others have been raving about. It was a no miss show in my book.. They played a wide selection of songs from old to the new. The fans were served big time. Every single body in that place was enjoying themselves.. it was nice to just hear something with good substance. No pale anpil.. no bunch of shouting and yelling.. just pure good quality music. I felt like I was being spoon feed with some real compas. I was served completely.. enough to hang up my bal coat for the rest of the year. It felt real good..
The lead singers.. damn.. they tore it up!.. they are such much in sync with each other. It was fun watching them sing and interact with the crowd. Finally... got a chance to hear Fabrice live. I knew too much of him but never actually saw him play. Now I see why he is the most respected keyboardist in the game. He's sick w the keys. His sound was felt.. along w the bass player who had my head boppin' all night.. the guitarist.. drummer.. Man, the band as a whole impressed me..
Overall.. had a blast..!.. My crew had a wonderful time.. all was worth it..
Ladykreyol was in the building.. having the time of her life! Thanks girl!
Jaybrooklyn.. my sexy gramoune.. nice seeing u two step the entire time.. ou bien enjoy ou!
Casanova.. my belly still rumbling.. lmao! Welcome back...!
Km Pat.. working hard.. can't waiit to see the footage.. thanks..
Roihenry and co...
Pipirite and co..
Richard Cave simply ROCKS!..
Evans frm Jazz Ent.
..there's more.. nice seeing all of u!.. xoxo _________________ Walk With Faith... Not Fear... Free Yourself.. "The Vision" |
