Here a chat that we had the chance to have with BERTO, the vocalist of New York underground group TEMPO. He currently has a song entitled "I'M IN LOVE" that is currently making noise. 1) Tell us about your new single "I'M IN LOVE"?

BERTO: First before we can go into the interview I would like to say a big
HELLO to the KM members and to you as well.I think all of you guys
for your kind comments on the song (i'm in love) they went straigth to
the heart.

I'm in love is a song that is very special to me.I actually wrote
this song on December 24th of 2007 after coming out of a club in
NYC.It was about 5 in the morning I could not fall asleep and all of a
sudden the song came,very quickly I got on the phone and call one of
my female friends and started singing the song to her,she fell in love
with the words right away.The song is doing extremely well I just
released the video for it and the reviews that i'm getting so far are
very positive.

2) Is that a SOLO project, or a group project with Tempo?

BERTO: Well I started promoting the song SOLO but now the song is being
promoting under TEMPO because we in the band feel that we owe
something to the fans (Tempo's album) so we decided to just bring the
album out since I'm in love was done by the guys in TEMPO


3) What has taken you guys so long to release your debut cd?

BERTO: We were the ones financing the album because of that it took us
longer then it would take someone with a deeper pocket. But the album
will be out this summer.

4) Did your deal with ALAN CAVE fall through? Why did it not work out?

BERTO: Alan Cave was concentrating on his projects and that did not leave him anytime to work on any other projects.So the deal never
materialized.

5) We understand that your group is now signing with BONBON/BOOGIE Productions? Give us the details on that?

BERTO: Yes Moise and I actually met with the guys last weekend and I can tell you that only positive things came out the meeting.Boogie
Production will be in charge of the band alongside Bonbon production.This summer the fans will experience a much mature TEMPO the album is set to release in august and we will release a new song at the end of tis month.

6) What can we expect from YOU and TEMPO in the near future?

BERTO: Pat a lol a package Bro believe me the lineup is crazy. When you
have a band with Maestro Jacomo ,Will (son la ri a) Marc Harold( Ex
bassist 509) Shedly Abraham one of the greatest drummer ,Donald (Ex
keyboard player of TABOU COMBO), Phillipe(Ex gong player of New York
all stars) you can already see what we have in store for the fans.


7) We understand that you came extremely close to joining ZIN. Tell us about that? Would u take that offer if offered NOW?

BERTO: Yes last year while touring with ZIN I was approached by some ZIN members about joining the group.At that time I was deep in with TEMPO so I did not think it was the right thing to do and let my friends
down. As of right now i would not take the offer for the same reason,
but about a month ago i probably would and Moise and I did speak to
Alan about the possibility of joining the band just pour rajeunir le
groupe. But the way things are turning now for TEMPO i would say not at
the moment.

If you were asked to join a current group in the HMI right now. Who would you go for and why?

BERTO: Rigth now I don't see no other group but mine(TEMPO)

9) Your favorite ARTIST and GROUP in the HMI are....

BERTO: I have a few actually. Favorite artist i will have to say
Ritchie,Alan,Tifane, Belo,Shoubou,Emanuelle Obas, Fabrice Rouzier ah lol
the list will be too long Bro lol.Favorite group now is KREZI djazz
serieux.

They might just be musicians who played on the album. If they are indeed band members, Tempo might be on to something here.
