The idea behind Compas On Broadway has certainly been a great idea. It is definitely not an event to only honor Kompa; so why is it that out of the HMI;Rap Kreyol, although very popular and the style mostly used in commercial medium in Haiti, has yet to be even nominated. Could it be because there is an assumption that RAP KREYOL is not as popular in the diaspora as it is in Haiti? If true; is this justifiable?
Please feel free to partake in this debate with an open mind. Your input will be appreciated. We may learn something from one another....

Oh WOW, that's true. I guess we'll have to wait for the RAP KREYOL ON BROADWAY Awards show, then 2 years later we'll have the RAGGEMUFFIN ON BROADWAY, then RARA ON BROADWAY, then CHANplumes ON BROADWAY.

Then COMPAS ON BROADWAY (one that's not being overseen by a person in charge of it who is HEAVILY INVESTED in multiple bands (nominees OF COURSE) and many different aspects of the business.

Very good argument CAP-PORT MARGOT. Furthermore I believe that the message from the RAP KREYOL songs are very positive and in sink with HAITI's reality

i think this is a great event but if they're going to add the other genres as well they need to reconsider the name...it was interesting to read the feedback on twitter last night when this award was given out.

Look at it this way, BC and RF haven't put out a hit since 09 yet they were still nominated...BIC did release a great album but if you're looking for the hit makers of 2010 you would have to consider Blaze one, Izolan, Fantom, Mika, Trajik, BIC, Majik Click etc...

I do think the committee could have done a bit more research before releasing the final nominations because 3 of the names on there didn't belong...

My brother the show call compas broadway, not rap kreyol broadway or racine broadway before you post something read your post first see if it make sense to you. If they want everybody there, i guess they will call they show haitian music on broadway you will make perfect sense with your post. Again they show call compas broadway. [/b]
