With reports all over the media about STEEVE KHE and DJAKOUT#1 allegedly having issues, this is what we have to say on the matter.

DJAKOUT #1 and STEEVE KHE "BOTH" NEED TO BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL because it has the possibility of blowing up in BOTH SIDES' FACES

Let's analyze the alleged demands that are circulating around and give some thoughts on the matter. NO WAY TO CONFIRM IF EVERY SINGLE DEMAND IS CORRECT because you have different ones coming from different camps.

*DEMAND OF A RAISE IN SALARY PER GIG FOR STEEVE KHE:
Let's keep it real......There is ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBT that Steeve DESERVES a raise. Whatever he was getting BEFORE the DJAKOUT CD came out, HE ABSOLUTELY DESERVES TO GET PAYED MORE than that after the release of this new CD. The songs that Steeve sings on the CD are the ones that are mostly carrying the group right now. "LIBRE D'AIMER" is the MEGA HIT off the CD...no doubt about that. "APPROVEM" is another one that is doing extremely well with the fans, and I can also say "Mwen Mouri" and "La Fwa". SI DJAKOUT PAT BAY STEEVE KHE AUGMENTATION PAR GIG apres plak la soti a....epi yo we ki IMPACT ak EFFET ke atis la fe pou jazz la....LI TAP YON CRIME. THEY NEED TO DO IT NOW!

*IS SALARY AUGMENTATION DEMAND TOO MUCH:
Having said that Steeve absolutely deserves a raise but AT THE SAME TIME, HE MUST NOT GO OVERBOARD with the augmentation that he is asking. He has to be reasonable, the same way that Djakout has to be reasonable and fair with what Steeve needs to get. SE POU 2 CAMPS YO CHITA POU NEGOSYE SA "TET FRET". This is only the first CD, while the RESULT must be rewarded accordingly; you have no way to guarantee IF the same result will happen on the next CD.....IF the two camps are still together.

*THE SAME RIGHTS AS THE BAND OWNERS IN TERMS OF SPONSORSHIP MONEY & MORE
As you all know, DJAKOUT has sponsorship deals with different companies in Haiti. DJAKOUT TE TOUJOU GIN DEAL SA YO DEPUIS AVAN STEEVE te vini nan jazz la. They always had those sponsors with them even before Steeve came. Whether the band is popular or "EN BAISSE"; these deals were always there; so in my opinion, Steeve has no right to request that he get a share of the pie JUST LIKE THE OWNERS OF THE BAND. STEEVE should wait and then see if the owners would offer him a piece of the pie in those sponsorship deals. If it were for me, I would say that since Steeve has only sung 1 CD, it might be a bit too early to offer that deal to him; but IF a second cd gives the same results from Steeve as the first CD did; then both sides would have to sit on the table to come to an agreement.

Steve would have had a BETTER CASE for this one if he were in the RICHIE/ZENGLEN situation in terms of SE MUSIC ke li "COMPOSE" yo...KAP FE HIT SOU PLAK LA. There is a huge difference if COMPOSE/WRITE THE SONGS...and they are HUGE HITS, compared to if the songs are given to you and you sing them. They are BOTH IMPORTANT....but Steeve would have had MORE WEIGHT if HE was the one that came in the band with songs like "Libre D'aimer" and others.

The bottom line is this....I believe that BOTH SIDES HAVE BENEFITTED GREATLY FROM EACH OTHER. REAL TALK!!! Steeve gave Djakout a new weapon and help put them among the top bands in the HMI again with the vocals from the songs he sings on the CD. At the same time, THE SONGS THAT STEEVE IS MAKING THE FANS GO CRAZY WITH...ARE COMPOSED BY T-POUCH and TI REGI

Because of STEEVE, the group CAN NOW play gigs WITHOUT Pouchon Duverger; something that they could not do well in the past when Pouchon acted up, or could not make the gigs for one reason or another. STEEVE KA SOVE GIG JAZ LA...yon baggay ki pat kon fet le li pat la

There is no guarantee that if Steeve Khe leaves Djakout, that he will be able to score hit songs with another band, and be as popular on the HMI circuit like he is now with Djakout. We understand that Steeve turned down some BIG NAMES before he settled with Djakout. Maybe it is a chemistry thing where DJAKOUT & STEEVE KHE JUST FIT EACH OTHER. At the same time, there is also NO GUARANTEE that if Djakout decides to replace Steeve Khe with another singer in order to show him and the public that SE NOU KI FE STEEVE AP MACHE NAN HMI LA....there is no guarantee that it's going to work, or that the public is going to accept it. PUBLIC NAN GINDWA DI...SE STEEVE KE MWEN VLE KI POU CHANTE MIZIK SA YO DEVANM

2 camps yo....MET DLO NAN DU VIN NOU....MET GRANMOUN SOU NOU....RET TET FRET...and settle this issue like GROWN ASS ADULTS.
PA KITE MOUN AP MET BAGAY NAN ZOREY NOU....respect each other and discuss the issues that are on the table like ADULTS. SE GRANMOUN NOU YE....time is ticking off the clock, so you both need to understand that a STEEVE KHE/DJAKOUT "DIVORCE" is THE LAST THING THAT BOTH OF YOU SHOULD BE THINKING RIGHT NOW. Real Talk!!!!!!!

DO NOT make a "BONEHEAD" move that both sides might regret for the rest of your HMI careers. BOTH OF YOU NEED EACH OTHER "right now".....MAKE IT WORK....PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!!!!!

I read a few months back how unhappy he was regarding how the promoters treat the musicians in this business. Now if his frustrations (RIGHTFULLY SO , for a guy of his caliber and what he brought to the table) are on the other side and within his own group, WE HAVE AN UNHAPPY GUY where a raise here and there might not tip the balance.

For a band like Djakout operating mostly in Haiti where one day you are in a decent hotel room in PAP and next day "wap binyin nan Kivet nan bassin manyan/Toilet pa ka flush san yon Bokit dlo", if you are not making some money along with some superstar status, then it is not worth it

What may not help also: The old Djakout guys (The Pouchon/Shabba/Roro/TiRegi and on have so many freebies (free rides, free hotel rooms, free food/drinks, free clothes, incentives and groupies all over town so $150 for Shabba or Pouchon is $150, but for SteveK it is $50 when he has to pay for his own stuff....Oh Well...Problem PAP fini

Both camps help each other. Both camps need each other. A break up won't do anybody any good specially us junky music. I hope they put this issue at rest asap.
