|
|
_____________________________________________
KM spoke to DAT7 manager and club manager/promoter GERALD KALIKO about the T-VICE/OLIVIER DURET situation. Here are some of the things that he told us.
*ON DAT7 NOTE REGARDING OLIVIER DURET AND T-VICE
"I think that OLIVIER DURET should release a note to address this. It has nothing to do with DAT7. This is T-VICE and OLIVIER DURET business. I think Olivier Duret might want to put a public note out about the situation explaining his side of the story.... NOT DAT7."
*ON BEING MANAGER OF DAT7 AND A PROMOTER AT THE SAME TIME
"I try to walk a fine line because I am part of different businesses. Just because I am the manager of DAT7, that should not stop me from picking up the phone and asking Jessie if such and such date is available on the T-Vice calendar. I'm doing business. as I have no issues with T-Vice. If they decide that they have a problem with me being the manager of DAT7, there is nothing that I can do about that."[/b]
*ON ROBERTO SAYING THAT HE HAS AN AUDIO EVIDENCE ON OLIVIER DURET
"I am not saying that Roberto is lying, but let's be real...I think Roberto would have released that audio for all the world to listen to if it was available. That's just my opinion."
*ON IF DAT7 & OLIVIER CAN FORGET ABOUT ATTRACTING T-VICE FANS
"I think what the fans want is MUSIC. I don't think they care about a lot of other stuff...except GOOD MUSIC. Having said that, if there are hardcore T-Vice fans that won't give DAT7 a chance because the band has Olivier, Ti Eddy, and Ti Tanbou, I guess it will be their choice to do so. I think the fans are all about good music and if a band delivers good music, they will support."[/b]

Roberto Martino said in a statement on Kompa Magazine [released to justify T-Vice's decision to let go of Oli] that he has an audio of Olivier Duret dealing business with another band [he did not unveil the name of that other band, but we know it is about Dat7].
Now, here is my challenge: I am not saying that Roberto is full of sh!t, but I challenge him to make the sound bite public.
I see the media is giving him a free pass on this issue, I don't know why. Do we have any serious journalists in this business, or are all of them on T-Vice's payroll so they are constrained to keep their mouths shut? Where the hell is Felix "Fefe" Lamy when we need him?
You don't fire a guy from something you so proudly call a business institution just for the fun of it. You have to have valid, tangible and irrefutable evidence to substantiate your decision.
I wholeheartedly agree with Gerald Kaliko, the manager of the Konpa band Dat7, who, in an interview to Konpa Magazine, said: "I am not saying that Roberto is lying, but let's be real...I think Roberto would have released that audio for all the world to listen to if it was available."
So until he releases that "gotcha" audio he said he has on Oli, I am taking his decision to let the man go as abusive, baseless, dictatorial, unjustified and unacceptable.
All this BS in the business needs to stop. It seems as though these musicians or "giggers" have no rights. I just hate seeing powerless people being abused. That's why I am all up in this issue. |

While ur all up on this issue ...why don't u read the facts before speaking trash...Olivier admitted himself to having some vocals on dats7....so instead of wasting ur time and writing all this crap and looking stupid just read before and think ...yall are incredible the smack that comes out of your mouths...depi se on jazz ou byen moun nou pa vle we, u become blinded and spray S--- all over the place.....après sa nou lagel sou do haitien!.... |
