Well done Pat. I love this sort of "Behind the Music" segment featuring classics and it happens to be one of my favorites. Boulo just breathes music and it cool to hear the ideas and backstory behind the song.
Keep them coming Pat. _________________ Music is love in search of a word.

I'm glad you guys liked it. We also got a great response from some HMI stars in the business in regards to that. Thanks...so look forward to some more.
It is refreshing to see that not all members only care about ZIN...HMI DRAMA...but also about interesting educating stuff like this one.

I wouldn't mind a Q&A with Joel Widmaier about some of OUR favorites Pat. _________________ Music is love in search of a word.

Pat, awesome work with this piece. KM is truly a reference in our music. Kudos to you for sucha great job.
I'm still an avid reader of KM, but stories like this are what will get me to login and comment. Now let me go listen to some Boulo Valcourt. _________________ "Mesye bliye chèz la, al nan sena a, oubyen al fè sinema" Beethova Obas. |

Great job Pat,
This song is classic and the story behind it makes it even more memorable.
Boulot is my favorite Haitian vocalist. I don't know of any other Haitian singer who is as versatyle as he.
Syto's poetic style and his usage of metaphors in crafting lyrics in Kreyol is unmatched.
Since you're taking requests, I'd love to to hear the the story behind Reginald Policard's "Decide'w" sung by Joel Widmaer.
Much love
