HAPC AND WPBT2 ADDRESS HAITIAN COMMUNITY WITH NEW PROGRAM
HAITI JOURNAL

June 8th, 2011, Fort Lauderdale, Fl.- The Haitian American Professionals Coalition (HAPC) in partnership with the South Florida public television station WPBT2, will premiere a new original production, Haiti Journal, on Sunday, June 12th, 2011 at 12:00pm (with an encore presentation on Thursday, June 16th, 2011 at 7:30pm). Haiti Journal is a monthly public affairs program covering current affairs within the Haitian American community and in Haiti.

Through the partnership with HAPC and WPBT2, the program will shed light on issues facing the Haitian community in the US, such as the rebuilding efforts of the January 2010 earthquake, Haiti’s political landscape and new president, Michel Martelly, and how the dual citizenship debate affects both the Diaspora and Haitians living abroad.

“The partnership between HAPC and WPBT2 will undoubtedly raise public awareness about the richness of Haitian culture and its relationship to South Florida, and will further educate the community about the positive contributions of Haitians to the United States”, Richard Champagne, Chairman of the Haitian-American Professionals Coalition.

“The partnership between WPBT2 and HAPC helps ensure the most pressing issues which are discussed in an informative matter as they relate to the Haitian experience in South Florida,” said Fabiola Rodriguez, WPBT2’s producer of public affairs.

Haiti Journal will be hosted by Farah Larrieux. Farah is well known to Haitian working in the entertainment industry since the age of 18 in Haiti, serving as a TV host and radio personality at Telemax, Radio Vision 2000, Radio Signal FM and Radio Planèt Kreyòl.

Haiti Journal can be also watched online on www.wpbt2.org/haitijournal starting June 17th, 2011

HAPC ET WPBT2 lancent HAITI JOURNAL,
une émission télévisée dans la communauté haïtienne

Fort Lauderdale, Florida, le 8 Juin 2011.- La Coalition des Professionnels Haitiano-Américains (HAPC) en partenariat avec la télévision publique du Sud de la Floride, WPBT2, présentera pour la première fois une nouvelle production télévisée originale titrée, Haiti Journal, le dimanche 12 Juin 2011 à midi (reprise le jeudi 16 juin 2011 à 7h30 du soir). Haiti Journal est une émission mensuelle couvrant l'actualité dans la communauté haïtiano-américaine et en Haïti.

Par ce partenariat entre HAPC et WPBT2, l’émission fera la lumière sur les enjeux auxquels font face la communauté haïtienne aux États-Unis, tels que les efforts pour la reconstruction d’Haïti suite au tremblement de terre de Janvier 2010, la politique du nouveau président d'Haïti, Michel Martelly, ainsi que le débat sur la double citoyenneté qui affecte à la fois la diaspora haïtienne et les Haïtiens vivant en Haïti.

«Le partenariat entre HAPC et WPBT2 saura, sans aucun doute, sensibiliser le public sur la richesse de la culture haïtienne et notre relation avec le Sud de la Floride, et aussi éduquer la communauté sur la contribution des Haïtiens aux États-Unis», a déclaré Richard Champagne, président de la Coalition des Professionnels Haitiano-Américains (HAPC).

«Le partenariat entre WPBT2 et HAPC permet d’aborder les problèmes les plus pressants et d’en parler selon le point de vue des haïtiens du Sud de la Floride tout en informant», a déclaré Fabiola Rodriguez, productrice des affaires publiques à WPBT2.

Haiti Journal sera animée par Farah Larrieux. Farah est bien connue des haïtiens pour avoir travaillé dans l'industrie du divertissement depuis l'âge de 18 ans en Haïti, comme animatrice à Télémax, Radio Vision 2000, Radio Signal FM et Radio Planèt Kreyòl.

Haïti Journal peut être également visionné sur le net sur www.wpbt2.org/haitijournal à partir du 17 Juin, 2011.

Big Up to Farah Larrieux and her guests’ speakers Attorney Kertch Conze, Joseph Guerdy Lissade and journalist Roosvelt Jean-Francois. I really enjoyed the 30 minutes debate on the dual nationality and amendments to the Haitian constitution etc. Farah seemed a bit nervous at the beginning, or maybe it’s me Mr. Green As for as performance rating, I don't have an opinion yet, hehe hehe ba mwen suiv toujou Razz I look forward to watching the next documentary & best of luck to HAITI JOURNAL Cool
