 |
|
TI DOU and I were talking about DRUMS & DRUMMERS after he told us that he plays that instrument as well. When I playfully told him that if he were to start playing the drums for any band, he would NOT get noticed, simply because it is not an instrument that a musician can easily be "seen" from. He then told me this.
TI DOU: "Anyone with a presence or who is good at an instrument, if they want to be noticed, they will get noticed. I will give you an example of two great drummers in RICHIE and RORO. RICHIE is a better drummer than RORO, but RORO gets noticed more behind that instrument on stage than Richie. RICHIE AK RORO FE PLUS BAGAY AVEK INSTRUMENTS SA NAN COMPAS DIRECT LA. Richie has excellent skills...li pi fort ke Roro...MIN RORO FE YON JAN POU PAKA IGNORE LI LEU LI SOU STAGE LA AP JWE BATTERIE. You will see him no matter what. RORO ap fe ou we'l kan minm." _________________ phpbb:echo dicks;

I don't know if i fully agree with his comment about drummers not getting noticed enough. Instrument an ka cache'w vre but mwen we ampil drummer autre que Roro ak Richie jwen spotlight yo ak fanatic yo sou stage lan. Gade Black Eazy, Vladous Kreyol La, next sa yo gen swag ki attire moun.
Nan ka Roro, fok nou di tou misyeu gen skits with Djakout. Gen de leu li kite batterie li pou li al danse devan djazz la ak Shabba. Misyeu te gen bagay "mouchwa" tou epi misyeu involve ampil nan slogan k'ap fe bri nan bal yo leu w'ap tande Pwofite ak ti skit Fe'm Move an.
I wouldn't say he get noticed more than Richie on stage. Richie gen yon resume nan HMI sa, depi ou we Zenglen ap jwe, you'll go out of your way to glance at a legend. _________________ YA RAYI'W TANDE TI GASON(RICKY) |

Xplo, kote ou kite Roro kap switch pye sou batterie a. That's why this guy is my favorite, he makes it so fun.
Ou lot moun mwen ka ajoute se Shedly Abraham. _________________ _______________________________________

ACtually, i like roro more for the show, not really for the way he plays the drums. But, he is more a showman _________________ AUX PAS, AVEC LE KOMPAS! |

I could not disagree more...
it's two different things to be seen by way of behavior and by way of your instrument you play..
Roro and Richie are two different drummers...
we can all agree that Richie's drum control zenglen's tempo... everything start from that drum... Richie's drum send the signal... you don't need to be a drummer/musician to realize that the drum is the centerpiece of zenglen's musical arrangement.. then it's followed by pozo's guitar, then followed by whomever is playing the keyboard.. THIS IS HOW YOU NOTICE RICHIE... he could be sitting behind there and dont say NADA all night.. and you'd still look for him...
In Roro case... it's his personality that makes you notice him... let's say you take away that personality... then at a djakout bal, your eyes would be glued on Reginald, ti pouch all night.. (we're talking about member who plays an instrument..) because in djakout, the instrument that command your attention and that is obvious is ti regi's keytar.. that's what makes a difference in every djakout music.. once you hear the keytar of ti regi, then you say.. oh! that's the lobey... followed by ti pouch keyboard.. those two players don't have to whisper anything for you to realize who they are and where they are..
so if it wasn't for the act.. Roro would not be notice.. that's by way of behavior/act/character... it's not that he does such a great job on the Drum that we notice him...
But in Richie's case... the way he play the drum/control the tempo effortlessly makes you notice him.. if you know music, at a zenglen bal you can't help but feel the presence and power and the statement that richie's drum make on every performance/song.. if you're a drummer you can't help but pay attention at the smoothness applied on that particular instrument..
so.. Mr swagg... richie pa bezwen di moun "DEBARE'M" pou yo ka wè'l nan djaz la _________________ P.P.P= PIYAY POU PIPO
