I will start with my favorite band Sweet Micky. These songs can make tears come out of my eyes easily especially the way Michel sings with harmonisation, make you feel that you're living the situation. Not too many artists can do that.
From the album Sisisi: M'ap Tann ou
"San ou pas di'm, vire wale
san'w pas konn si map ka kembe
2 pye'm marre tete mwen pati ou pap imagine
Mwen te pense se pour la vie
chimen nou te contre
men yon jou'm te pense
ke nou te nan manti
Malgre ke mwen realise
Ke'm te fin egare
Cherie mpap ba'w manti
san ou, msanti mwen vle mouri
Meme si'w pile'm, kraze'm, mwen vle'w ou met vini
Kote'w selman cherie se la ke'm gen la vie
From Denye Okazyon: Apuye'm La
Amour, mwen paka di'w kijan'm santi ke ke'm blesse
Cherie, mwen ta bay l'or diamant pou'm pas kite'w alle
Sans raison leve'w kite'm
Depi le sa m'bouleverse
Chagrin envahi coeur mwen, m'santi mwen malere
En dedan'm paralyze
Mwen paka menm fonctionne
Men'w pas janm realise
Tout project nou te parle
Amour, fo'w pas bliye'w se soley ki chofe ti coeur mwen
Cherie, se san'w ki koule nan veine mwen
Also you have song like Na kembe, Ou fe mwen mal, Songe & Pouki'w alle
I will add Touman by K-Dans |
I must agree with my fellow Micky fan!! Prézidan an gen de séri de bel balad...! But once you know the story behind Na Kenbé, it really gets to you, the same goes for Touman.
I would not put Sonjé in that category because of th whole duck thing they do in the song, it loses its romance.

That's the only thing I hate in the song. Other than that, bon bagay.

I will sound very old school as usual....but no songs does it for me like Bossa/Accolade LA LOI DE LA VIE.
The guy has to leave his love to go work outside Haiti 9probably USA
The text is just superb
Very melancholic and nice song...
Touman is a good one too.... |

Deffinently Souvenir by Nu Look. Every time I listen to this song tout corps fais chaire de poule, what a song.
Another one Ou Pati by Michael Benjamin.
I'll see if I can come up with some more.

SWEET MICKEY: "NA KENBE" Pure sadenest in the lyrics. Ronald Lubin did a marvelous job in that track.
K-DANS: I can't recall the title of the track but it's from their very first album.
The chorus basicly says: Doudou nou kite mais se pa yon raizon pou nou enemy...Mais nou ka toujou ret zanmi.
I couldn't break-up with you face 2 face...Something about Mwen konin wap di ke'm son lache mais se seul fason mwen ka etc...
*PERSONALLY, I FEEL THAT TRACK LIKE JUDE JEAN WROTE IT JUST FOR ME TO SAY GOODBYE IN A NICE WAY Something deep about that track |
