I really don't think race has too much to do with it. I think a lot of people have a lot of problem with him reaching the milestone because he had the help of steroids ti get him there. That along with his attitude and his bravado don't make him a very like-able guy. Its hard to cheer for a cheating ass hole. I think if Ortiz, Gonzalez, or Jeter were to come close to the same feat, they would receive more support because of their cleaner reputation.

Early last year they cought a guy on steroid in the MLB, and the guy was bating a horrible .125 average with 0 home run and 2 RBI, i thing that's was his stats.

The sad thing about the Barry's situation is that he was a great player BEFORE all the steroid controversy. My personal opinion is that Barry ALLEDGEDLY started using steroids because his body was breaking down and he wanted to stay in the game longer. Of course that does not make it right and to me anyone who I feel was juiced up and broke any record, those numbers are tainted POINT BAR.

Mark McGuire lost A LOT fans after the whole Supreme Court mess. I have never seen a man LOOK more guilty and the crying sure did not help his cause at all.

Have you noticed how Mark's physical appearance has changed, he was BIG MAC now he looks like DEFLATED MAC.
