Max Jean Gilles was drafted in the second round by the eagles and Elvis Dumervil by the Denver Broncos. There are currently 6 players of Haitian descent in the NFL. Williams Joseph of the New York Giants, his brother Carlos Joseph of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Jacques Cesaire of the San Diego Chargers, Jonathan Vilma of the New York Jets and now Max Jean Gilles of the Philadelphia Eagles and Elvis of the Broncos...... I’m always happy to hear success stories about our fellow countrymen, Keep it up....

We're moving on up.....

thank you.

Do you have an idea of haitian descent, playing in the NBA as well.

Neg Mont-real,

The only Haitian player in the NBA that I know of is Samuel Dalembert, the starting center of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Kafou,

Jonathan Joseph, the DB from South Carolina Gamecocks is not of Haitian Descent. But don't worry, there will be at least 3 haitians in next year's draft. We got some pretty good college players....

We've had a couple of players of Haitian descent in the NBA over the past 20 years. Olden Polynice who was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in 1987 then traded to Seattle for Scottie Pippen (What a great trade for Chicago) was the first haitian in the NBA. 3 time world champion Mario Elie is also of haitian descent. There were a lot of rumors about Kareem Abdul Jabbar whose real name is Louis Alcindor being Haitian but that was later denied by him, his parents are from the V.I......

This good news! Do you know what state they are from originally? My gut instinct tells me at least one of them went to Glade Central HS in Belle Glade.
