3 REASONS why KAÏ fans should feel CONFIDENT & WORRIED at the same time.



* 3 REASONS FOR CONFIDENCE!

1) FAMILIARITY FACTOR/RESUMÉ: A lot of the HIT SONGS from the CARIMI catalog have RICHARD CAVÉ's signature...in other words...written/composed by the artist. What that means is that ATIS LA PA GIN PWOBLEM FÈ HIT! He already has another one doing well with Kaï's "Malade"...si sé pou sa...NOU MÈT POZÉ. Like I said in a recent article...THE WORD OF MOUTH FOR THIS CD IS CRAAAAAAAZY based on people who have heard stuff from the CD.

2) MOTIVATION: This guy eats, breaths, sleeps music. In terms of motivation...you certainly won't have a problem there because HE LOVES WHAT HE DOES. His desire to do well in this business has never been questioned, so that will work very well in his favor.

3) MISTER NICE GUY "persona": He has managed to create that MISTER NICE GUY image in the eyes of the public...that has stuck throughout his 15 year Carimi career...and continues to this day. When you are seen that way by the fans, as well as the majority of the people in the business, it can only help you.

*3 REASONS TO BE WORRIED!

1) FRONT MAN CONCERNS: I have seen the group perform a couple of times without any issues; but some in the industry continue to doubt the longevity of him being able to handle front man duties by himself. I have been told that a few times during conversations with some people in the business...so this is an area where he will have to prove THEM wrong again. VOICE strains are the main concerns brought up to me, as well as can he handle the front BY HIMSELF when MIKABEN is NOT there.

2) TOO MUCH RICHARD ON THE CD: CARIMI fans are so used to having Richard Cavé sing 2 SONGS "tops" on Carimi releases, that it will be a whole new experience for all to hear him sing more than that on a CD. Will they get used to it like they seem to have done with Arly Lariviere; or will it become a concern? Time will tell.

3) HIGH EXPECTATIONS: When you are one of the main composers of one of the most popular Haitian bands to have ever hit the circuit, you best believe that whatever material you release on the market WILL HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS....and YES...THEY WILL COMPARE IT TO YOUR PAST WORK. No matter how unfair that might be, that is a legacy that Richard's work has built over his 15 years in Carimi...so he is going to have to suck it up and deal with it.....starting with the very first KAÏ CD.
