RORO ZENGLEN ON WHY THE BAND IS......

*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Manager RORO, a lot of people CAN'T understand why ZENGLEN with a good CD, is NOT able to get gigs on a regular basis in this HMI market in the U.S. Why do you think that is? What is the problem?
RORO: "The market is saturated right now. There are too many bands in the market, and the advantage that some of these bands have, is that they offer their services for FREE to promoters in order to just get an advantage and play. GIN JAZ...SE POTE YO POTE TET YO ALE BAY PROMOTEURS...POU YO KA JWEN GIG. I have a well known promoter in the HMI who told me that in order for bands to advance in the market....YOU HAVE TO PLAY THE "KISS ASS" game."

an unknown band who is playing for free will not bring in as many people as say a known band like zenglen, klass or TVICE.... etc.

Even if said bank is playing for Free, the return on investment will not be as high. So there is still an incentive for promoters to go after established bands for big parties.

This is just shameful that an established institution of over 25 years will stoop so low to use the excuse of Kiss Ass as the reason they are not getting gigs...have some respect for yourselves and the remaining fans to take ownership of what really going on with the band.

That BS excuse is valid for Dat7, Enkepab, Enposib and all the other relatively new bands that are trying to make it. Sa se pa pwoblem Zenglen gi gen ase experians nan biznis la pou konen kijan pou vire...Or so they should know..but clearly they are lacking competent management

Agreed with konpaconvert. It's either they lack competency or they just don't know about the market and they way to promote the band.
