HAITIAN ACADEMY AWARDS on the inspiration!
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: What can you tell us about the Haitian academy awards? Please give us some details about the upcoming show?
"Orlando Cultural Awards: "This award is more of a testament to the Haitian culture mostly through music and other form of arts. We're focusing on the music right now; since, I'm sure you know that Haitian music in the last decade have grown and broken many barriers. And as Haitian, I personally believe that we need to bring more awareness to our beautiful culture and I think that we're planning to do just that. And honestly, this award show is not simply for the Haitian community; everyone is invited."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: How did the idea come about? What made you decide to take on this particular initiative?
"Orlando Cultural Awards: "For a very long time, I have been thinking about this award. Thinking of a way I could bring more awareness to our culture. Since then I started surrounding myself with like minded people. People who could help bring this to light. And since music is one of the central pillar of Haitian culture; I thought I'd use it as a base and build on it. And here we are today with the first Haitian academy away."
