We asked FABRICE ROUZIER the following regarding MICKAEL GUIRAND. Read below.
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Your thoughts on the MICKAEL GUIRAND VAYB song "Lanmou Fasil"
*FABRICE ROUZIER: "I like it a lot. It sounds like Mickael is going for a more "grownup" sound and is going towards the more traditional konpa sound. In that one simple song, i feel the battle that he has just won over his demons. I also am happy to see that he has surrounded himself with a team of well seasoned professionals that have the capacity of bringing him top notch creations and a kickass live set.
I also think that it is very good news for Konpa in general that a new band comes in. There is such a drought in konpa that anything new has to be seen as a blessing. When that something new is brought about by one of the top entertainers in the business, it is even better."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: You actually think IT IS BEST for him to MOVE AWAY from the so called CARIMI SOUND?
*FABRICE ROUZIER: "I think it is a bold move, but i know with time and perseverance it will actually widen his audience and get him RESPECT. What i heard.... sent this to me, as a KONPA fan : "Hey guys, this is who i am. I can further the legacy of the elders by respecting and expanding on their vision." I wish him courage and luck. I hope that this band sustains the test of time and survives the arrogance and the evil intentions of the nay sayers."
