*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Next year will be YEAR 20 of COMPASFEST.... do you plan to do anything different from normal festival activities??
RODNEY NOEL: "Of course Pat! 20th is not 20 days bro. This is milestone."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Compasfest 2017 is in the books. What is your general assessment of the two day affair? If you have to grade the festival from 1 to 10 what grade would you give it and why?
RODNEY NOEL: "By far, this year was definitely on of the best years. It was the first year of our two day event and there were some growing pains. However, planning a two day event gave us more play room to feature all of the artists and present amazing acts. We had a ball!!! I gave myself a 9."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Is it fair to say that you are keeping The festival a two day affair from now on, what do you think you'll go back to the one day affair sometime in the future?
RODNEY NOEL: "We've come to the realization that it's almost impossible to present a festival on the level we strive to achieve in only one day. We will definitely remain with more than one day, but it's too early to divulge all of the surprises for next year. On a side note, I wanted to salute my staff and all of the bands that participated. It was a huge undertaking but it would not have been possible without either of them ."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: A few people thought that the Saturday lineup was HEAVIER/STRONGER in terms of band attraction for the fans compared to the Sunday lineup. Do you agree or disagree?
RODNEY NOEL: "Not necessarily! I would think that is a matter of preference. Many others disagreed and thought it was the opposite."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Next year, do you think it's a good idea or bad idea to keep rival bands on the same day in the lineup (Tvice/Djakout) (Klass/Nu Look)
RODNEY NOEL: "Do you want me to take all of the fun away? That what the people are coming for!"
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: As the manager of HARMONIK and Festival owner, it must have felt bad to see your band not being able to close the festival the right way.... at a time where most people would say they have never been hotter in the business...as they are today. Thoughts?
RODNEY NOEL: "Everyone who runs a business has had to make decisions that benefit everyone else, and sometimes at your own personal sacrifice. We all took it hard, but that gave us motivation for many new and upcoming projects on the horizon. Stay tuned because you are correct! Se djaz moman!"
