ENPEKAB maestro KERVIN BAZILE: READ KOMPA MAGAZINE INTERVIEW
KOMPA MAGAZINE speaks to ENPEKAB maestro KERVIN BAZILE a.k.a "DWET MEDAM YO" about the group's debut CD...which should be available on iTunes starting MONDAYJULY 17th. Check it out.

1) What can you tell us and the fans about ENPEKAB's CD set to hit the streets on Monday?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: "Da Future" is an album that could catch a lot of people by surprise. There's something for everyone on this album from young Haitian-Americans like a lot of the guys in EPK, people living in Haiti, and the kompa direk fans. Tout moun jwenn lol."
2) You are a band based in NYC. What do you think ENPEKAB can bring to the Big Apple market....which I am sure you know is NOT an easy market to win over.
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: The " Big Apple" is a tough market to win over, but anything is possible with faith, hard work and giving your all when the opportunity is given to you. Being a NYC based band, I believe ENPEKAB can bring a certain level of curiosity, excitement, and great music.
3) What makes you think THIS CD is the one that will get you the attention that you NEED to have in the market?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: The "Da Future" album will attract the attention I would need to have in the market because of the diversity in song selections and how each singer stepped out their comfort zone to show a different side of themselves in the music. Based off some of the feedback I've gotten, people were shocked to hear the different sides of our singers Prince Bobby and Ruddy Denis. They were also surprised to hear another one of our band members singing on album. I won't say who it is... that's for tomorrow lol.
4) Who is considered the group's MAIN singer....the FACE of the group?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: Ruddy Denis and Prince Bobby are both Enpekab's Lead singers.
5) What are the advantages and disadvantages of having two singers in a band?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: The advantages of having two singers is that both singers complement each other. Each singer brings something different to the table in terms of their own experiences, styles, ideas, and abilities. This forces them to learn from each other and helps with creating music.
The disadvantages of having two singers is finding a way to showcase both of their talents to the public.
6) If I were to ask you to describe your two singers in terms of the different things that they bring to the table for your group on the CD, as well as live, what would you say?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: Well, I can say Prince Bobby has really showcased his ability to adapt to songs out of his comfort zone. And Ruddy Denis has also made progress in his vocally ability when it came to executing his songs. Certain songs forced the signers to bring their fire, excitement, and energy. And others songs forced them to bring out their sensitive, emotional, and intimate sides. Live performances would apply the same logic. Whatever expression the song calls for is what the singers would have to express to the public.
7) Which band currently on the market do you think ENPEKAB comes closest to sounding like musically?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: Honestly I think ENPEKAB sounds like ENPEKAB lol. I don't think we sound similar to any other band in the market. Now that "Da Future " is out I think it should show exactly what I'm talking about.
8) With CARIMI no longer here, and bands like KAÏ and VAYB basically just starting, Karizma and Cruz La going through a transition, do you see that as some sort of opening for ENPEKAB to make its mark in NYC "NOW"? Is it the PERFECT TIME or not?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: Regardless of the situations that the other NYC based bands are going through, I believe an opportunity has been given to ENPEKAB to showcase its talent. When you are given an opportunity, that is the right time to make your mark and show the world what you have to offer."
9) You have an interesting nickname "Dwet Medam Yo". Tell us how that name came about?
Kervin Bazile Enpekab: I'll leave that to the ladies imagination. LOL.
10) One final word for the fans?
*Kervin Bazile Enpekab: I would just like to thank Pat and Kompamagazine for having me. The work that you do for this market doesn't go unnoticed. I'd also like to thank everyone for the love and support. Don't forget ENPEKAB's debut album DA FUTURE DROPS.
