*KOMPA MAGAZINE: Is that officially your new stage name "MG"? Can you please tell us why you made the change? Are you trying to erase your CARIMI legacy/memories from the minds of the fans?
MICKAEL GUIRAND: "Wi Pat... my official stage name. I think my name was carimi in my last experience... sometimes carimination... now i have decided to put my name out there... Mickael Guirand... but call me #MG. I'm not trying to erase anything. Carimi is who I am and i will never shy away from there, but with this new chapter, a lot is on my shoulder and i am accepting the challenge. New name... new mentality.. new approach... same voice.. same beast on stage. As a joke... if i go somewhere.. people would be like : carimi koman ou ye... i never took the time to market me kuz it was always about the team."
*KOMPA MAGAZINE: You think by you changing the name it's gonna make people stop calling you that? 15 years is hard to erase in a lot of minds... don't you think ?
MICKAEL GUIRAND: "Not at all... the voice and the face will always be Carimi... but i never had a real name on stage... people would call me Carimi, Maykel, mayko, mike... u name it... now i'm just choosing one for myself."
