IS KREZI PAYING FOR FABIOLA'S PAST AS KONPA KREYOL MANAGER?

KM.COM spoke to a couple of HMI personalities who did not want to reveal their names for this piece in fear of not being able to book the group Krezi in the future.

3 people that we spoke to are absolutly convinced that Krezi is paying because of past experiences that some industry people have had with Fabiola when she was manager of the group Konpa Kreyol.

A promoter in New York told us "There is no doubt in my mind that Krezi is paying for her past behavior because many people perceived her as being rude and difficult to deal with. She rubbed quite a few people the wrong way when she was in the group's affairs, and for a new manager who had just gotten on the HMI scene, some veteran promoters are not going to take that from her. You take a look at Jessie Al-Khal in TVice, Konpa Kreyol was never as popular on their best day as TVice, but you never heard of Jessie behaving like a mad lunatic when she did not get her way. That's why Krezi is paying for this right now. The thing she has going for her is that her band is a damn good one that can't easily be shoved aside just because of her."

A radio personality in Florida expanded on the Fabiola situation. "If you notice,when it comes to Krezi's affairs, TI Lionel is more in the forefront in terms of dealing with people because it's better for the band's business. KREZI does not want the same blowups that happened with Konpa Kreyol because of Fabiola to happen to them. They feel better keeping her in the background and let her deal with important issues behind the scenes. Make no bones about it, She is still in charge of Krezi in terms of management. She has a hands on role as manager of the group, but only in the background. I personally think that she was doing her best to defend Konpa Kreyol when she was their manager, but some things could have been handled differently."

The third person that we spoke to is part of the HMI in Boston. "Fabiola was good for Konpa Kreyol and is good for Krezi. You know why? Anyone dealing with Krezi right now knows that when the group becomes popular, they won't be able to take advantage of the group because they have a manager that does not take sh*t. Right now the group and Fabiola are trying not to ruffle any feathers because they know that they haven't proved anything yet in the hmi as KREZI. I suspect that once they become popular IF they become popular, all that will change."
